Welcome to the ‘South East Regional Amphibian and Reptile Group Meeting’ which is being generously hosted by Marwell Wildlife on January 12th, 2019. Our first SE regional meeting in a number of years, this is a great opportunity for all amphibian and reptile group volunteers from the region to get together to discuss conservation issues, catch up with friends and colleagues, share experiences and meet new folk who share our conservation aims. We also welcome non SE region ARG volunteers who would like to find out more about what is happening in our region, and discuss solutions to some of the challenges they may be facing elsewhere across the UK.

We have a varied and packed programme for you covering the latest conservation programmes and activities for amphibians and reptiles in our area, with representation from each of the local groups: Paul Edgar & Pete Gillatt from Hampshire and the Isle of Wight (HIWARG), Berkshire (BRAG), Nick Dobbs, Dorset (ARC & DARN), Jamel  Guenioui, Surrey (SARG), Paul Stevens, Sussex (SxARG), Rick Hodges & Steve Songhurst, Kent (KRAG), Ray Cranfield, Essex (EARG), Dave Willis, Hertfordshire (Herts ARG) and Oxfordshire (OxARG). We are also delighted to be able to welcome Nigel Hand (HART) who will tell us about his experiences radio tracking adders on Greenham Common in Berkshire,  Sheila Gundry from Froglife who will tell us more about Toads on Roads and the new London TOAD project, Phil Thomas, Principal Ecologist at the Ministry of Justice on their biodiversity programme and the opportunities it offers for our volunteers, and Angie Julian (ARG UK and OxARG) who will be telling us about the innovative new community outreach project, 'Adders are Amazing'.
